The Amira L’Bais Yaakov is a fundamental work which deals with the mitzvos unique to a Jewish woman. As a complete guide to the mitzvos of niddah, challah, hadlakas neiros, and melicha, this sefer served as the handbook for all religious women across Germany from its publication in 1858 until the Second World War. More than 25,000 copies in 18 separate editions where printed in that period of time. The Amira L’Bais Yaakov has also been translated from the original German to both Hebrew and English.

The new edition includes a completely new translation from the original German coupled with comparative notes to all previous editions. In addition, notes and responsa from an array of Torah scholars who wrote about the Amira L’Bais Yaakov are recorded in the hundreds of notes throughout this work. These include the gloss of Rav Shlomo Zalman Aurbach and Rav Tzvi Pesach Frank.
